DEPRESSION

The persistent feeling of sadness or loss of interest that characterises major depression can lead to a range of behavioural and physical symptoms. These may include changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, concentration, daily behaviour or self-esteem. Depression can also be associated with thoughts of suicide.

FROZEN SHOULDER

FROZEN SHOULDER

A condition characterised by stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint.
The condition occurs more commonly in people with diabetes and in people who've kept their arm immobilised for a long period of time.
Symptoms may start gradually and resolve within one or two years.
Treatment involves stretching and sometimes injecting corticosteroids and numbing medication into the joint capsule. In some cases, surgery is used to loosen the joint capsule.
